Stacey Stone was born and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska. While attending law school at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, Ms. Stone worked for two summers as a law clerk in the State of Alaska District Attorney’s Office in Ketchikan, Alaska. Following graduation from law school, Ms. Stone relocated to Anchorage, Alaska and took a position as a litigation associate at a local law firm where she tried cases before all courts in the State of Alaska.
Ms. Stone joined Holmes Weddle & Barcott in 2013 and is a shareholder in the Anchorage office. Ms. Stone maintains a diverse practice working to serve the many needs of her various clients. She has expertise in many kinds of commercial litigation cases, provides advice and consulting regarding corporate governance, maintenance and structure, works with contractors pertaining to the various areas of construction law, and defends employers involved in workers’ compensation cases. In addition, during election years, Ms. Stone’s practice includes providing guidance in matters related to campaign and election law, and representing candidates for local, statewide, and national office as well as industry coalitions, non-profits, ballot measure groups, and independent campaign expenditure organizations. Ms. Stone has worked with various Alaska Native corporations in many facets including corporate governance, litigation and workers’ compensation defense. Ms. Stone has handled cases in all courts in Alaska and has appeared in front of the Alaska Supreme Court on multiple occasions.
