Keriann C. Baker joins Holmes Weddle & Barcott with two decades of experience in real estate, land use, project development, energy, tribal law, regulatory affairs, legislative and external affairs, corporate strategy, and litigation.

As part of her project development work, she assists clients with due diligence pertaining to land use, resource development, and permitting. She has significant permitting, regulatory, and administrative experience in energy, water & wastewater management, and waste management. Ms. Baker also defends her clients against third-party challenges, governmental claims, and investigations under local, state and federal permitting regimes.

Ms. Baker advises corporate clients on corporate strategy, acquisitions, compliance matters, contracts & procurement, project development, and risk management.

Ms. Baker previously served as the Chief Strategy Officer for an Alaska Railbelt electric cooperative, overseeing its member relations, governmental affairs, and public relations. She regularly appeared before the Regulatory Commission of Alaska and the Alaska Legislature, and represented the cooperative on the Railbelt Reliability Council, the organization overseeing the reliability of Alaska’s largest electric grid.

Ms. Baker has represented all manner of corporations, developers, municipal and governmental entities, utilities, and Tribes in land use, environmental permitting and defense, zoning, regulatory, corporate, transactional, and civil litigation matters at firms in Florida and Alaska.

Ms. Baker is an Executive Board Member of the Resource Development Council, a prior President of the South Peninsula Hospital and Homer Chamber of Commerce boards and previously served on the Executive Board of the American Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division.
